How do we get around Durban and Surronds?
Self drive is safe in South Africa, we drive on the left hand side of the road - as in the UK and Australia. All the big brand car rental agencies operate here. Alternatively, Uber or Bolt are the local taxis.

What should we be careful of while travelling?
It is advisable to research your route in advance, The Organising Committee will publish the best routes to and from the venue - closer to the time. Always stay on major highways, avoid shortcuts though townships and avoid reliance on GPS - rather 'look around' and use common 'directional' sense. Avoid walking alone, especially after dark. As your local fellow competitors for best routes and advice.

There will be a boat charter service. The charter boats will be offered at a range of price points based on the age and condition of the boat as well as the rental period. Keep an eye out for an announcement coming soon.

What can we expect from the local medical and emergency services?
Medical facilities in cities and larger towns are world-class, in rural areas the clinics are mainly primary health needs. Of course, accidents can happen anywhere and medical & paramedical teams are well specialised for any emergency or casevac evacuation - even from the remotest parts of the country. Do check your travel or existing medical cover before leaving home. it is a good idea to travel with sufficient medical insurance.
